A DECADE IN POSTCARDS

It all began in 2015, when I was searching for a meaningful gift for my then-boyfriend (now husband). He often joked that nothing good ever arrived in the mail, so I sketched our beloved neighborhood and turned it into a stack of postcards. I shared them with close friends, inviting them to send back their favorite memories.

Over the course of a year, our amazing friends filled our mailbox with postcards, each one brimming with personality, stories and stamps from distance places. They were so much fun to receive, that this quickly became a cherished tradition - a way to celebrate life’s milestones and stay connected with the people I love.

This idea continues to capture memories that form the heart of Dear Dibble. Below is a glimpse into ten years of handmade postcards, each one telling a story.

MOM, DESIGNER, STORYTELLER
AND SNAIL MAIL ENTHUSIAST

Hello, I’m Divya - aka Dibble! My life has taken me from Lagos to Moscow, London, and Hong Kong before I finally found my way to New York City, the place I now call home. I live here with my husband and two children, who inspire me daily to turn everyday moments into something extraordinary.

Shaped by my travels around the world and a background in fashion, Dear Dibble is where I bring stories to life through thoughtful, vibrant design. Whether it’s a brand, a website, or bespoke stationery, each piece is crafted with care, personality, and intention.

When I first met my husband, Shawn, over 10 years ago, I wanted to give him something truly special for his birthday, so I made him a postcard. It was an unexpected hit and soon became a way to commemorate the big moments in our lives and share it with loved ones. Catch a glimpse of a decade of handmade postcards below, that tell the story of some important events behind the scenes of dear dibble.

The postcard project has come a long way in the past decade. I love sending my artwork out into the world, where every postcard sets off on its own journey - hopping on planes, drifting on boats, rolling along trains, until it finds its way to your mailbox.
